In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lyndie Land presents THE TESTAMENT: an intimate exploration of vulnerability, resilience, and the beauty of becoming.
Crafted entirely from individually applied pieces of tissue paper, this non-textile couture creation transforms one of the most delicate materials into a monumental expression of strength.
At its heart stands A'Lexus Broussard, an Oklahoma City singer, model, and three-year breast cancer survivor, whose personal testimony reminds us that beauty is not diminished by what we endure, and that our stories deserve to be seen, heard, and honored.

The Art of Fragility
Delicate by nature. Powerful by design.
Created from countless individually cut and applied pieces of tissue paper, THE TESTAMENT is a study in fragility, patience, and transformation.
Unlike traditional couture, this creation relies not on fabric, but on a material known for its delicacy. Each piece was carefully placed by hand, building layer upon layer until something seemingly fragile became extraordinary.
The sculptural cape, styled as a sweeping skirt for this editorial, features an oversized breast cancer awareness ribbon woven into its visual story.
Its construction serves as a metaphor for the breast cancer journey — the vulnerability of uncertainty, the strength found in community, and the beauty of continuing to become.
Because fragility and strength are not opposites. They can exist together.
Meet A'Lexus Broussard
The Woman. The Voice. The Testimony.
A singer, model, and storyteller from Oklahoma City, A'Lexus Broussard is a 32-year-old, three-year breast cancer survivor whose journey is rooted in faith, self-discovery, and the unwavering love of community.
Through music, A'Lexus has always found purpose in sharing her experiences and testimony. But her breast cancer journey brought a different kind of story — one that challenged her relationship with her body, her identity, and the reflection she saw in the mirror.
Through the uncertainty of treatment, the compassion of her nurses, and the love of family and friends, A'Lexus began to embrace herself in new ways. What once felt unfamiliar became an opportunity to recognize a beauty and strength that existed beyond physical appearance.
Today, she wears pink with pride — a color she once disliked, now transformed into a personal symbol of survival, solidarity, and remembrance.
For A'Lexus, survivorship is not simply a chapter that has ended. It is an ongoing commitment to honoring those who have faced breast cancer and supporting those who continue the journey.
In her own words:
